Contest Ends: July 30th 2008

1st Prize: 1 digital picture with full background and up to two characters, a nice original character sheet of the winning character and a cameo appearance of the character in Canidae.

2nd Prize: Character sheet & a digital avatar

3rd Prize: Digital avatar

Goal: Basically the idea of this contest is to design a character for Canidae, to appear as a cameo member of Tailchaser's birth pack.

Judging: Will be done by Rosanna Brost, head of animalian character design & the story of Canidae. Entries will be judged upon how well the character applies to the specifications of the contest as well as how well they would fit into the styling of the graphic novel. This is not a contest to see how well you can draw; but rather, how well you can design markings on a wolf.

If you cannot draw but want to enter, there is free line art here:

Rules & Regulations:
-Please, no psychedelic wolves (no funky colours); Canidae has a semi-realistic styling and the entry's markings & colours should reflect this.
-No tattoos or ornaments. These are wild wolves that have never known humans, so these items would be highly improbable.
-No wolf dogs. The pack is too remote to have them!
-No funky bright eye colours like purple or pink. Keep the colours realistic! If real wolves don't have a colour, don't use it!!
-Wolves are NOT huskies. Please refrain from making husky-ish looking designs.

-Please refrain from making black wolves - there's already loads in the pack!

-Good wolf colour phases for the entry are: grey & brown, silver (no brown), cinnamon, white & dark. (Note that wolves are never completely brown, so if you want a brown wolf, please put in a splash of grey somewhere for realism's sake.

)
-Entries can be either traditional or digital.
-Names should use two words. (e.g. 'Star-dash.'

Please refrain from using words in names that wolves wouldn't know about, such as 'gold' or 'silver' or 'spear' or 'sock.' Keep the words in the name elemental/natural/animal like 'Icedrift' or 'Weaselfur.' 'Action names' like 'Tailchaser' are also allowed, as is the use of body parts (as in 'MossHEEL' or 'FeatherTAIL.'

Wolves may have a nickname as well that has nothing to do with their actual two-part name.

-Character biographies are not important.
-There is no restriction to the amount of entries.
