A commission (well not really since I refused payment 'cus the commissioner is family) for my cousin!
 She wanted me to draw her a fairy on a horse riding through the forest. This was a tricky one for me - first of all, I can't draw children very well (which is why the kid might look a little funky... >< ) and also, since this image is for my cousin's little daughter, I knew I would have to work extra hard to please. I want to really make my 2nd cousin's day when she sees this! (Which won't be for a while.)  Can you spot all the animals?  There's quite a few. There's a chipmunk, a hare, a deer, a dragonfly, a frog, the sorrel horse and two trout.  To date, this is one of my most detailed pictures ever (surpassed only by  which was a huge bitch to colour and ended up being 107 layers in size.) This image is 86 layers, but that's still pretty huge! Forests are hard to paint btw - I'm NEVER sure what the hell I should paint in the far background to make it look realistic and like a forest. All I can hope in the end is that it reads well and that my intended audience (my young 2nd cousin & her mom) is pleased.  Well if nothing else, the foreground's cool. Yay for eye travel! I love the little critters scattered about, and the horse is just gorgeous!!!!
The earthy colors are lovely, and the grass looks so soft and cool. Seriously though, the depth of the forest is fantastic. Keep it up!!
