Artist's Comments

Sorry for the bad scan/splice, my scanner is a piece of crap and this is the first time I've ever spliced two pictures together.

Drawn because I wanted to get some facts about drakoon out.

Starting from the top, left to right....

DRAKOON TEETH
-Drakoon are nearly constantly growing & losing them.
-It isn't unusual to see a drakoon with teeth missing.
-Serrated, razor sharp; can cut steel even.
-A drakoon's bite is always in a 'V' shape which is due to the shape of their heads. They have no front teeth and so their teeth lie in two rows which do not meet. Like \ /. This is so they don't bite their tongues.
-Despite the sharpness of their teeth and the power of their jaws, they can pick up their kids in their mouths without injuring them.

FUN FACT:
Drakoon have more blood than nhumans and through generations of using blood magic, have evolved to survive losing over 75% of their blood without blood transfusions. They are also unplagued by illness, as the heat of their bodies doesn't allow it. (Imagine... never getting the flu - EVER!)

DRAKOON EYES
-Complete slits when about to transform or in dragon form. Irises get huge and cover front of eye.
-Slightly slitted when tense/ready to fight/angry/scared/hunting in elven form.
-Pupil like a human's when relaxed/happy/calm/majority of the time.
-Drakoon have excellent eye sight in all lighting.

DRAKOON WINGS
-4 wing fingers, 3 joints in each.
-Wing membranes tough but vulnerable.
-Hollow, yet very strong bones in wings that are difficult to break. (It's rare to hear of a drakoon with a broken wing.)
-Wing thumbs used for slashing mainly.
-Main wing joint incredably strong! However, favoured target during combat.
-Rank is tattooed along edge of wing.
-Nationality tattoo is on the right wing, while the squadron designation tattoo is on the left. *was too lazy to draw them in*

FUN FACT #2:
-Drakoon invented a syringe long before humans, but they stole the art of tattooing from us. Ever since they've been adapting it and generally making us all look incredably stupid with their pro skills. In a day a drakoon can get all the tattoos on an adult dragon form drakoon done, where as a human would take a few days.

DRAKOON HAIR:
Males: Short, stiff & bristly
Females: Long, fine & super straight

BLOOD MAGIC
-Blooding knives, while mainly ceremonial, are often used for normal tasks. All drakoon of rank carry one and there are three kinds; fealty, eternal loyalty and loyalty. The strongest is 'eternal loyalty' with the power to bind the spirits of drakoon together literally forevermore.
-Blood magic was invented in Sloveniska.
-Ki's right arm has several blooding scars. (Yes I know I accidentally drew his left, I was too lazy to fix it.) The long vertical one was from his initial hensyn luru blooding to Keeliska, his cousin, the two slashes across it are renewals from Keel and the third which runs paralell to the original scar is from Admiral Ykaren.

Okay Now I leave you to read my messy writing. *got bored of typing it out.*

Yep. The first time isn't tooo painful but the second makes me shudder. (But it was fun writing about his agony... I think I'm at least slightly sadistic to my characters. Wait until you hear what I doing to Zack in BOF's rewrite. :D)

:XD: You just can't help yourself. It makes me want to come over, rescue them and hide them in Pendulus where they'll be safe from you :D Although...I'm rather evil to my characters too. *Shame*
