Rosanna P. Brost was born on the morning of March 18th 1990 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. She grew up in Armstrong, British Columbia, Canada where she received many awards for her artistry in public school and where in 2004 she became a recipient of the Chief Scout Award of Canada, the highest and most prestigious award given to any participants in the Canadian scouting movement. Rosanna grew up with a love of the wilderness, hiking and camping with her family, as well as with her Scout Troop, 1st Pleasant Valley. It is from these experiences, as well as her mother's stories of growing up as a farm girl in rural southern Alberta, that Rosanna gleans most of her inspiration for the Copperbane Series. Fascinated by history and science, Rosanna does her best to create a world that while fantastic, makes sense. In 2008, Rosanna started her formal art training as an animator at Capilano University in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada which is where she resides to this day. She is currently pursuing a career as a visual development artist/freelance character designer and author.

Rosanna's interests include hiking, backpacking, illustration and learning as much as she possibly can. She's also disturbingly obsessed with model horse collecting, particularly custom Breyers.
